Now see? If this is truly to be a 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy' -this- is the kind of entry I'd think the PTWVH¹ would like to see. I see you've submitted, too... However, they seem to be thinking more along the lines of keeping it more 'down to Earth' and, since most Earthlings don't cotton to the notion that hitchhiking through the galaxy can be accomplished in reality, the PTWVH¹ have decided to pander to that quaint notion. That being said, here's a couple places that might say it better, and you probably should check them out. This is a great entry, and I've heard rumours that TPTWVH¹ are looking for entries about places, so with a bit of modification, your entry is likely to be a shoo-in for acceptance! It would be a shame to loose such a great piece!

¹Powers That Work Very Hard. h2g2's PTB² prefer that term over PTB² since they don't consder themselves Ps² at all, but mere researchers who also have the job of keeping things running (like servers and stuff ).

Hrm, I do see your point. Perhaps I'll rework this at some point
to be an entry on the bar itself, which surely deserves one.
Still, it has me thinking... if this is truly the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Earth edition, and not simply the Hitch Hiker's Guide to Earth, i don't necessarily see a problem with the odd, tasteful reference to intergalactic affairs, as many of the guide's users are probably Douglas Adam's fans who might enjoy the odd chuckle
Besides that, there are alien AI's already living in the net, and they might want to know where to go about getting ahold of a Pan Galactic, once they download themselves into human bodies. Siriusly. I met one.

Of course there are! You didn't really think I originated from Earth, did you?
*ahem* .. On to.. other things...
I agree, and even the editors enjoy reading stuff like this, but they've set themselves a 'plan' for 'official' guide entries... and for now they're sticking with it. Of course, this doesn't mean it won't change tomorrow! And even 'rejected' entries remain 'part of the guide' unless you cancel them (and for all I know, even then they may lurk about somewhere, safely hidden -- they do have that don't throw anything away policy, ya know )...
Hmm... Maybe what they mean is "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy -- Vol. Earth" ?

There's some new stuff posted on my page if you're interested.
-Cheers (i've been nose to screen with the Guide for 2 or 3 days straight now, so my conversational skills are suffering some attrition... sorry)

Hello,
I was wondering if I could make a link on my pggb page to your pggb page? I'm trying to compile various recipies for pggb's into a useable & indexed lump. If you could get back to me, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Although it's nice of you to ask, and I don't presume to answer for the author, on average people write web pages for the purpose of them being seen, and any free advertising is welcomed.

Indeed. Feel free to create links to anything i've done, I won't mind, really. I am considering doing an entry at some point describing the bar itself, but I want to wait until I have some of the other drink recipes to put up with such an entry. Anyways in the meantime feel free to make a link pointing here... I have 'unsubmited' this article so I doubt it will get much attention otherwise
Cheers

?? But why?
At any rate, I once tried to unsubmit an article. I thought I had until I checked my mail one day to find it had been accepted.
(The same one I mentioned earlier.. in some thread, possibly this one. )

Well, I like to be polite, even if overly so. That, and I'm relatively new here. I'll eventually get the etiquette down. Besides which, no one will stop by my site if they've never heard anything from me. There isn't much there, sure, but I like company.
