Stag Beetles.

Post 1

STRANGELY STRANGE ( A brain on a spring )

When I was a youth I lived opposite a field that had a path lined with trees and loads of Stag Beetles. These were much maligned as claimed they would get tangled in your hair, although like most myths no one had actually seen it and they were actually fascinating harmless creatures who we often used to go and watch, warm summer evenings were best if I remember correctly, well it was more than 30 years ago!
.
Slugs seem a creature without much purpose and certainly unloved, although yesterday I found one eating birds dropping's which seemed to mainly consist of digessted blackberries, so slugs have some use afer all.
