The Crow

Ah the crow, my oldest and newest friend

I have thee and know thee yet thou art a mystery to me

I wish I knew the thought's behind those curious beady eyes

How you follow me yet when I turn I find thee not

Where art thou my crow?

Why do you haunt me so?

Do you look for me my crow?

How you fly through the day a midnight shadow

Those feathers black and sleek so joyously you fly

Wherefore art thou my crow? Cannist thou not hear my call?

Your midnight wings bring naught but woe unto my heart, oh glorious crow

Alas oh crow, you haunt me yet

Your presence perched atop my mind

But when I look for thee, I do not find my friend, my fiend, my crow.

Is there a meaning behind my crow?

That damned thing that joy that woe?

That shadow of a friend that hunts upon my heart. Alas!

Now I know, my constant companion, my bane, my crow.
