Green Tomato Pie... That's a new one. Could be good though, and God knows we have more than enought green tomatoes...

It actually turns out quite nicely. Of course, when I submitted it, it was much more green tomato season in the northern hemisphere than it is now; now it's a bit early to even start tomato seeds in this area!

How about having those temperatures in degrees C and gas marks, for all us non-Americans

Gas marks I can't offer, but perhaps if I provide the temperature conversions someone else can do so. 450 degrees F is roughly 235 degrees C, and 350 degrees F is roughly 175 degrees C.

I think you'll find it is illegal to grow certain types of green tomato in Europe. One of those silly EU rules I think about how tomatoes have to be red! smiley - smiley

Er, um....but ALL tomatoes are green before they ripen!

And I do hope you're not deprived of yellow tomatoes there; some of them are quite tasty. Then again perhaps tomato-growing isn't as well-developed an art in the EU as in the USA.

Doesn't only allowing red tomatoes seem like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland?
"We're painting the tomatoes red! We're painting the tomatoes red!"
My given name is Alice, and I go by it quite a bit, so I own innumerable copies of the book and have read it several times.
