buying a bike

Hi all who see this,
I am 42yrs old and have decided to get back on a bike, after 25 years.
I have 3 RDs, and am seriously considering an FJ 1200 1988-90 model.
I would appreciate any info that might help me as far as whether i should also consider a honda CB 1000 or a kwaka GTR 1000.
Thanks Andrew

Not sure if I've done exactly the right thing but have bought a 1991 1200 with 100, 000 kilometres on the clock. The thing is I haven't passed my test yet at the age of 54, that will happen soon. The reason I got it was that it was local and cheap 1500€ about a thousand quid. I'm living in the middle of nowhere next to the back of beyond and have tried it out already on the small tarmac agricultural roads. Once moving it's a dream, shifting it around in the yard takes some getting used to but I am trying every day to get used to the weight, having already crushed my foot under the engine in a slow-motion bone- crunching topple. Is there anything I should know about the course I have taken and how to avoid any further unnecessary discomfort ?

Cheers
