[Ecg]: *Does a sweep kick to finish off the last one through tripping it.*
"That's not what I meant... Like this."
*creates 3 simple gollums out of dirt and clay, has them walk further out and away from the sparring matches, then hold still.*
"You see... what I had meant?"
The 3 gollums are aligned horizontally with some distance between eachother.
*Catches his breath*

I get struck in the chest, and get sent backward a bit. Bringing my swords to bear, I focus on disarming my opponentfirst, then striking at him.
Front Gate
Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Ecg has the gollums make some sort of simultaneous grunt (as though they were indicating readiness).*
Front Gate
Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Ecg then decides to have two more gollums make a separate line so that they stand ahead of the rear line of 3.*
"To illustrate my point, you see... doesn't it look more like a shooting gallery... now?"
*Has the two in front that are between the first three stick their tongues out.*

*looks around*
im not too sure if there's anything we can use for targets around here, gollums might work depending on the composition of their bodies, but if they are too hard the arrows will just bounce off.
*resheaths his katana and pulls a dagger from within his robes, he then proceeds to toss the dagger up into the air and catch it as it fell repeating the process over and over until all that could be seen was the glint of the red stone set in its hilt*

*Dashing forward again, Jake slahses out at the man and his weapons*
Front Gate
The_Admiral(aka Avatar) Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Avatar looks at Jake's stance and considers his options. He quickly places one of the batons in his belt and unsheathes his katana. Then Avatar feints with the katana while bringing the other baton around in a horizontal swing.*
Front Gate
The_Admiral(aka Avatar) Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Avatar quickly parries the weapons with his own and, in a flash of inspriration, kicks Jake in the shin.*

Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
[Ecg]: "I don't want to dirty you archers' arrows, so I had them be out of dirt and some clay, rather than mud. It may work just yet..."
*Has the two front gollums weave through the staionary line, with their torsoes and heads facing forward still... once. Or twice, before settling back into the original configuration again.*
Front Gate
Hmm Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Admires elexorien's handiwork.
Then squints at the gollums. Fires an arrows at the furthest one and watches as tip of the arrow head wedges itself neatly between the head and body.*
They should do nicely.

Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
[Ecg Unagi]: "Oh. This is good... glad I didn't have to resort to stink gollums made of bog muck (again)."
"I think the most I can possibly make... would be about 7 at once,- but that'd be likely to tire me out..."
Front Gate
Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Ecg realizes he had neglected to put out the fire centipede and promptly does so.*
*Then he has the line-up of gollums shift its position again (this time, to 3 in front and 2 in back).*
Front Gate
MadHank (Master of Forgeting, and Returning Awesome guy) Posted Jan 7, 2006
*I pull my foot back as so not to get kicke, and blocks the sword with my gladius and the staff with my sword* Not too bad. Shin kicking is a little low though.
Front Gate
Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
<Is a gladius a shield-discus on a chain? <- Not sure why but I have this sorta Deja Vu about that./>
*Ecg has the gollums settle themselves into holding still again*
Front Gate
Hmm Posted Jan 7, 2006
(To Ecg.)Well maybe we should find something else? It won't do for you to get tired before the battle's even started.
*fires another arrow which lands directly under the first.
*sly grin*
Then you really will end up a pin cusion.
*retreives the arrows and returns the dagger to it's owner.*
Front Gate
The_Admiral(aka Avatar) Posted Jan 7, 2006
*Avatar stumbles but regains his footing.*
It's a low trick yes, but this is war we're preparing for. In war people will do whatever they can to ensure victory for their side, honorable or not.
*Avatar lunges with the katana while using the baton to ward off try and ward off blows.*
Front Gate
Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
[Ecg Unagi]: *Appears somewhat *
"Ah, nonsense. All I'd meant is that it's probably out of my current scope (of capabilities) to do more than about say maybe six tops..."
*shrugs*
"yet,- if you (do) insist..."
*Has each gollum fetch a dead-snag log from the edge of the small field, then place it in front of itself. They are now sitting, idly kicking their feet on top of each stump... in a horizontal line.*

Thorn Posted Jan 7, 2006
If they were humans instead, the gollums might at this point be whistling...
"I figure,- if I'm going to be testing my limits anyway,- I have to find out what they are first (and yes, also not try finding them all at once )."
