A Conversation for Hobbies
My first "paintings"
Alfredo Started conversation Jan 8, 2005
Two months ago I suddenly felt the need to start painting.
Painting with watercolour.
I should say; painting with black watercolour.
First the T.V.is disconnected, PC unplugged, no radio, no telephone.
And there I am, in silence, with many sheets of paper,my hands, heart, will and emotions and of course paintbrushes a few paintbrushes (who suffer deeply by my way of treating them. Sometimes one breaks).
And when I feel "the momentum" I draw my lines in about ten seconds.
Sometimes three or four and rarely a few minutes.
Sometimes I paint with my eyes closed.
I feel the need to do it and that is móre than enough reason to dó it and kéép doing it.
I enjoy it and discover aspects of myself.
I discover the paper, thelines, the brushes.
I discover expression of my emotions, my will.

It's just me, the paper, brush, water and black waterpaint.
Sometimes I use my hands or a finger.
I like the combination of abstract and fugurative. That's what I discover when I have made them.
It's risky for me to talk about it and share it at the web, because I need the ingrediënts of strong intimacy.
But - me too - I like to share and get in contact with those around the globe that share the same passions.
So feel free to react if you want to. But mainly I am interested in yóur creative way to "explore life"/"express life within you"

Glad you posted this undiscovered jewel
I wanted to begin lurking a bit so I stopped to say hello.
I love what you have said about your kids and life.
They sound lucky to have had you as a parent.
Einstein ; Imagination is more important that intelligence.
I think he is the perfect person to relay such a belief.
I rather enjoyed the intelligence I had or have BUT
I took comfort in that phrase as a child and I still do.
Very Pleased to meet you!
Drop by for a lurk in my space sometime.

The last few days I made more "personal" water colour sketches.
By intuition I try to express my mood, circumstances, aims, feelings,
etc.

Would not it be nice, if someone at H2G2 would create a "Creativity-Album-Entry", where everyone can put óne photo out of his/her collection???? (photo of painting, or sculpture, etc. etc.)
Just like there is also a photo-album.
I don't have the know how to do that.
Hope someone brings it up in the community.
I'll copy this message a few times around H2G2.

Hi Alfredo,
Greetings from India!
Thanks for your post! I was not around for a long time. Your paintings are amazing. I can’t believe these are your first paintings and you never took any professional training? You are truly gifted!
It’s a good idea to create an album of hitchhikers!
I am not very good at drawing or painting though I painted landscapes with oil paints and did some therapeutic painting recently with distemper emulsion colours, which we use for painting walls!
Your paintings are truly inspirational! I plan to dust my colours and brushes this weekend!

Ha Anushodhak,
Quote; "I plan to dust my colours and brushes this weekend!"
It sounds like a gift you are giving yourself, and (to me) that's the best approach.
Enjoing what you're doing.
Next monday I have my first exhibition in the library of the town.
It was my own idea, but it's getting a bit out of hand.
I need rest and distance.
My daughter and her friend will hang them at monday morning and I'll
visit the place (not important room of the library)later on that monday.
I hope te get in touch with a few soulmates, whom I hope will visit the place.
(And I'msure that I will love to see my favorite painting at the poster they make, because that painting really "needs to go outside".

It also is a "selfportret" , but noone will know that. Anyhow, for others it is irrelevant to know.
Greetings from sunny Amsterdam and stay in tune with your own passions !
