A Conversation for The X Files

I admit it: I am *obsessed* with the X-Files.
I'm not talking mildly obsessed, here.
I really, really and truly am bananas about it, and probably will be until the day I die.
It saddens me to see ppl saying they think the show has 'lost its touch' as, the way I see it, it has just changed the way it puts across its quest for humanity in a world of infinate evil. The X-Files is not just a sci-fi show for sad freaks who *~believe~* and lock themselves away for four years armed with a pile of vids and a book, hoping to solve the mystery of UFOs (although that is a lot of fun...) No, TXF, as we call it, is about the fight between good and evil.
Go watch a good ep with the CSM in and watch how all the subliminal msg's suddenly become clear!
Just had to say that. Any more philes out there on the h2g2 or am I the only one???!

Hello! Thankyou for replying to my article! I don't know how many people have read it - you're certainly the only one who has commented, so I'll talk to you if I may.

Yes, the X Files is brilliant. It hasn't lost its edge by any manner of means (although I have to complain that season 6, as far as I've seen, seems to be a little too pre-occupied with the Mulder/Scully relationship - and it gets on my nerves a little). The "Biogenesis" three-parter has to be the best mythology storyline we've had since "Gethsemane/Redux".

Anyway, I'll shut up now and let you go.

Thanks again,

It's nice to hear from someone who doesn't think TXF is going down - that breaks my heart when ppl say it!! I'm now off to have a look at your welcome page. Please visit mine. I'll love you forever!!

Hello! As a matter of fact, I've already been to your user page (or whatever they're called, and have left you a message with my e-mail address on it (if you're intersted).

Yep, I'm sticking with the number 'cause I think it sounds better.

I've also read your article on bluffing GCSEs. It's brilliant! Keep up the good work!

I suppose, yes... I grudgingly admit I'd like to see them together, I just wish that they didn't pack all the shows full of "Mulder Loves Scully"-type jokes (although, that said, "The Rain King" was one of the best episodes in years!

Well, I agree kind of that s6 goes a liiiiitle overboard on light eps, but I still adore the show to death, and I'm a totally mental shipper. In any case, Milagro is meant to be fantastic, that's shippy *and* it's a dark, s2 type eppy too. Can't wait! Oh - and is it just me, or shoudln't it be Tithonus this week rather than SR-819?! I AM FURIOUS, to quote Scully!!

This is a subject that confuses me too! apparently production orders and screening orders are not necessarily the same, so sometimes I don't know if the episodes are supposed to be shown in the order they are being, or if it's the BBC mucking around with them again (remember Season 3???!!!). I know the order of production says that it should be Tithonus, but, as you say, it will be SR819. Don't worry though - I have actually seen Tithonus (courtesy of a friend with Sky - or "E.T.T.V." as I like to call it) and it is brilliant.

I didn't say I hated the comedy episodes - I love them - it's just that the jokes have become a bit monothematic (very fancy word!).

I personally want to see "Field Trip", as it sounds very weird! That 3 week gap was annoying though! Just think - we could be on Two Fathers/One Son now if the BBC weren't screwing around!

Bye,
