I am a two faced son of a gun, so I now think he's a fantastic player and Christ you don't get that many caps, appearances for Utd and trophies if you aren't half decent. Still don't like his brother though - far too gobby for my liking. But Phil is the better of two Nevilles

Or he could just be a complete bandy-legged, rubber-faced duffer who's cost you three million quid.
Three million! You could've got Gilberto Silva for that.

I like players who prove themselves, and don't moan about their lot... like his brother. So we'll see...

I'm surprised. But if Peter Crouch is a £7million striker, who knows.

I think he's a good signing, though I do have reservations about the fee, contract length, and wages too.
He's not the kind of 'glamour' signing we were hoping for, but we're short of defensive midfielders and defenders. Excluding the kids, we only have three centre backs (Hibbert, Pistone, Naysmith) and three centre backs (Yobo, Weir, Koldrup). Lee Carsley is probably our only natural defensive midfielder, although Yobo can play there at a pinch.
If he was just a utility player I'd be worried about spending that much money, but he's better than we've currently got for left back and defensive midfield.

Phil 'The Enforcer'* Neville, I think, will be a good signing for Everton, mainly because David Moyes will get more out of him than say, Newcastle got out of Nicky Butt. I think it all depends on his attitude
*ok it's not his nickname, but it should be

" we only have three centre backs (Hibbert, Pistone, Naysmith) and three centre backs (Yobo, Weir, Koldrup)"
So you've got six centre backs, then?
