Everton : The Bank of England

I don't know we're where getting the money from, but the prudent (stingy?) Scot who is in charge of our finances Mr Wyness says that we're not spending money we don't have, but it looks like over the next two weeks our spending is going to go in to double million pound figures. So how much could we spend if we we're going over the top? Its been a while since Everton had the moniker that is in the title of this thread, but if we keep going the way we are I think we could be providing loans and mortgages soon enough...
Interesting article here, from the normally depressingly miserable, and generally doom and gloom merchants Toffeeweb : -

I don't know about anyone else, but if I supported another team, I wouldn't want to play us if this is going to be our team next season!

These are interesting times for Everton football club.
By finishing 4th in last season's league you've acquired several million extra quid in prize money which I am convinced the club was not expecting to recieve. Also you can look forward to a few more extra million from next season's Champions League, even if you do get squashed flat at the first stages. Plus of course just by being in that competition, you become a more attractive proposition in the transfer market.
All in all, I would say that Everton are on the cusp of becoming a 'big' club once more.

All this will work fine as long as they qualify for the group stages; which, given the players they have already signed and are being associated with, shouldn't be too much of a problem.
It'll be interesting too to see what Bolton do with the extra revenue they could get from the UEFA Cup, if they get far enough. The competition for 4th place (or even 3rd place, depending on Man Utd's reaction to Glazer) could be interesting next year.
Key: Complain about this post
