As a Liverpool fan I was saddened to hear that Chelsea Honourary Vice President died last night in a helicopter crash on his way back from Anfield.

The Great Shanks said football is not a matter of life and death it is more important than that. As I have said before that is not always sadly the case. My condolences to all Mr Carter's family and to his fellow Chelsea supporters.
