L. Ron Hubbard (2 b's) stopped 1986 when he died. Sadly, the loons who took him seriously didn't.

scientology isn't a religion.
it fails the duck test:
if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck then it is a duck;
if it walks like a bussiness talks like a bussiness walks like a bussiness then it is a bussiness.
(or something like that...)

That definition also fits a lot of "religions". It's nice to think of adherents being various types of ducks, some very aggressive and brightly coloured and some rather drab with bedraggled feathers

I'm no expert of course, but I do have a few random thoughts I'll be all to happy to share, not that anybody asked
Apparently he invented the religion on a bet... his logic being "if you're dumb enough to fall for it, I deserve to have your money".
I wouldn't nessisarily care if it didn't have the word 'science' in it....
(quoth the physics major, "It Ain't Science if its Religion!!!")
Key: Complain about this post
