L. Ron Hubbard (2 b's) stopped 1986 when he died. Sadly, the loons who took him seriously didn't.

This seems to be the case with most religions.

scientology isn't a religion.
it fails the duck test:
if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck and looks like a duck then it is a duck;
if it walks like a bussiness talks like a bussiness walks like a bussiness then it is a bussiness.

(or something like that...)

That definition also fits a lot of "religions". It's nice to think of adherents being various types of ducks, some very aggressive and brightly coloured and some rather drab with bedraggled feathers smiley - smiley

I'm no expert of course, but I do have a few random thoughts I'll be all to happy to share, not that anybody asked smiley - smiley

Apparently he invented the religion on a bet... his logic being "if you're dumb enough to fall for it, I deserve to have your money".

I wouldn't nessisarily care if it didn't have the word 'science' in it....

(quoth the physics major, "It Ain't Science if its Religion!!!")
