A Conversation for The h2g2 Poem
Now this is odd

That poem is a very good description of what happened to me just the other day - Tuesday late in the evening, to be exact...
I was staying home from w*rk with a bad cold, shivering in the morning trying to dress in layer after layer to get warm, and of course breaking out in sweat in the afternoon, peeling off layer after layer.
So - I wasn't feeling all too well when I went to bed and had a hard time falling asleep. I had just closed my eyes, pretending to sleep (that sometimes works and makes me feel asleep for real) when I felt a cool hand on my forehead. It felt so real that I had to open my eyes to see who it was.
Nothing. No one.
Somehow it didn't surprise or alarm me - I've had a feeling of having a guardian angel before - so I just closed my eyes again, and there the hand was again, cooling my hot forehead...

Hello Titania... ~huggle~... me hopes you are feeling a little better now... ~bigger but very careful huggle~
Tis always nice to think someone is watching over us... keeping us safe... as in the poem... me has often had the feeling of not being alone... when there is no one around that me can see... is it imagination... or maybe something more comforting... ~Greebo shrugs~... there's more things in heaven and earth... or some such quote...
Greebs..xx

Oh, I'm fine now, really!
But some people would probably dismiss it, saying I was having - hmmm - fever hallucinations? But I didn't have *that* high temperature!
I think the first time I realized that I have a guardian angel was more than 20 years ago. I was in the south of Switzerland, in the spring. Unfortunately, we had had several days of intense spring raining, and when it finally stopped raining, I immediately went out for a long walk, longing to get out and get some excersize(sp?)
I walked up a mountain one way, and had planned to take a different way back down. Just as I was turning back, it started pouring down again. I don't know if you're familiar with the experience of how little you can see through the rain if you're wearing glasses? My problem is that I'm so nearsighted that I'll see just as little without glasses...
I found the right path, and started wandering down. At the steep parts the cliff was quite slippery from the rain, so I had to squat down and slide rather than walk down (the kind of path where you have a steep cliff wall on one side and nothing at all on the other side).
And then suddenly I heard someone saying 'Stop! Don't go any further!'
I heard the voice so clearly that I stopped and looked around trying to spot the person who had said it, but there was no one around. I then realized I must have heard the voice in my mind, inside my head.
The path made a sharp turn at that point, and instead of just sliding down the path I very carefully approached the turn step by step, clinging to the wall with my hands.
Having reached the turn I carefully looked around the 'corner' of the cliff wall - and discovered that the rest of the path had been washed away by the heavy rains - it ended very abruptly in a precipice!
Phew! It gave me quite a shock - but it also made me realize that someone was looking after me...
