A Conversation for Tips For Devon Drivers

Wiggly stick...

Woz

Having driven round Devon for many a happy hour here are some Top Tips:

1. Buy a car with an automatic gearbox. If you don't, you'll be sick of wiggling that stick in the middle and you'll have a left thigh like a tug boat.

2. If you're going anywhere, estimate how long it will take then double it. You'll still be late.

3. Get as far as you can on the 'big' roads, even if it means driving further. They're the ones with the line down the middle. Remember- in Devon there is no such thing as a short cut.

4. Signposts seem to have been put up by someone with only a vague sense of where they are pointing to. Drive with a local or you'll always end up in Totnes.

5. If you've had too much to drink, the hedges provide a nice automatic steering system if you don't mind a few dents.
