Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow: A weekend Children's programme
Created | Updated Apr 21, 2006
Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow is a children's programme like no other on TV today. It does away with nearly all the minor celebrities, popstars and pointless "I want to say hello" remarks of other weekend children's TV programmes and has a good laugh, is unique to anything else available, and really, really silly.
It is on the CBBC digital channel on Saturdays and Sundays from around 9, and on BBC1 on Saturdays also.
The General Idea
Dick and Dom is essentially a gameshow, set in a bungalow with bright, retro wallpaper, with rather oddly a lift, and things on the wall including a burping moose head, a picture of the Chuckle Brothers and a picture of a random celebrity that talks every now and then and changes every show. There are six contestants or "Bungalow Heads" and the object of the overall game is to win the most "Bungalow points" by the end of Sunday morning, when that person with the most points wins first prize which is usually a home entertainment system of some sort. There are also second and third prizes, the second being something not bad and the third being something really odd or rubbish(examples in the past have included a calculator made entirely of cheese and a sack of building mortar).
The biggest driving force of Dick and Dom in da Bungalow is games.
Creamy Muck Muck
Creamy muck muck is quite possibly one of the biggest, and messiest parts of the show. There are different kinds used- the main kind being what looks like custard, and another chocolatey kind which is known as "Dirty Norris", although Dick and Dom have never revealed the true ingredients of creamy muck muck. The objective of creamy muck muck is to fling more of the stuff at the other team than the other. In the past it has mainly been a game(there are versions where they play it like football and war battles), but there have been examples of it being a ruined dinner party(like the Travis video for "Sing") and also a play where they go through a fairy story and end in a muck muck fight at the end.
Cereal Race
This is usually done at the start of the show. The Bungalow heads eat as much cereal as possible within 60 seconds. It is not always cereal that is used either- other examples have included
