Glad you find it useful/cool/fun/whatever. It's been sitting in my head for a while and I thought I'd write it out. I may add the double-letter ones: MA-numbers and MP-numbers. (Are there any others?)
You can bookmark it on your own browser (add it to your favourites list) or put a link to it on your personal space.

Right, I've just added more information about U-numbers (the second paragraph, about related A-numbers) and a section on Named Entries. Yesterday I did the bit on longer prefixes. And a few weeks ago I did the bit on double digits.
I've also today added in named anchors. This means that you can link to a specific part of the entry: A23908151#NE

The latest update to the site has added some triple-letter numbers, for the subscribed articles malarky. I must play with that a bit and work out what's going on, and then add them in.

You say valid A numbers are all divisible by 9. This is not true. The last digit is calculated based on the rest, but not in such a way that the whole number is divisible by 9. For example, A991 is valid. I've never figured out the method, but I believe it is fairly simple.

Thanks, Gnomon. I hadn't noticed your post till now. I'll have to think about that, and edit the article accordingly. I'm sure it's something to do with 9, though.
By the way, I've just added more information about Named Entries, specifically the <./>Versions</.> page, which is a named entry on h2g2 pointing to a Hub article. I'd seen that sort of thing before, and mentioned it in the Entry, but with the caveat that I couldn't think of any examples. Now I've removed that sentence and added <./>Versions</.> as an example.
(Just because I happened to be looking at coelacanth's PS, where there's a link to that page.)

Someone else explained this to me elsewhere since I posted that. I'll see if I can find it.

I removed the sentence, /All valid A-numbers are divisible by nine/ and replaced it with a simple link to that conversation. It's easier.
