The h2g2 Poem

I Wait
I wait, warily watching,
Impatiently idling the moments away,
My fingers drumming a cadence
In harmony with the clock.
My eyes strain for light,
For the tender touch of the sun's firey fingers
Lingering lazily across my cheek:
Dangerous yet delicate.
Slowly, slyly, the sun
Twists up rays of light
Wearily wrapping around the world.
Languidly, a lake of liquid gold
Spreads across the silent sky.
Amber drops of light condense, crystalize,
And become tears:
Softly shed tears symbolizing sadness and safty.
I search the sky for a signal,
But it remains steadfastly stoic, serene;
A vast violet void
With shining sapphire stars faintly fading,
Falling forty feet from fear to fame.
Resplendent, rose-colored rays tint the clouds...
I wait.
