leading role for Cate?

I love Cate Blanchett, but I wondered why she was nominated for a "leading" role in Return of the King, when she is only in a few shots!

That is the category which someone nominated her for. I would have moved her to a supporting role myself but that is not my position although I did question the placement in that category. As a result I propably should have placed the entire cast of LOTR:ROTK into the Best Supporting Actor Category but I didn't despite them picking up the most nominations they are limited to their individual nominations.
