The Zurich Premiership is back on track after several weeks of the Heineken Tournament, it's good

to be back. As you know I am a 'Wasp' supporter and not wishing to blow our trumpet overly, it has to

be said that at the moment we as a team are fantastic! After losing players to the World Cup, along with many other teams, we had a slow start but once the newer lads settled in we

started to notch up the points. Our Captain is back and now Captain of England to boot, and we are

riding high in both the Premiership and the Heineken. Just one fly in the ointment, we are going to

lose players once again to the Six Nations! What we and the rest of the squads have to bear in mind

though, is that the 'Wasps' are not just about fifteen players, they are a whole squad and have players who

are interchangeable when injury or other duties mean the regulars and the Captain are missing. We

shall see. With only seven points between us and Bath and only four between Wasps and Northampton

it's still anybody's trophy.

Match Report

Gloucester 36 Newcastle 12

Last years semi finalists Gloucester had a great game at home against Newcastle Falcons this week

with Henry Paul the Zurich Player of the month for January, landing five out of six kicks at goal.

Missing Jonny Wilkinson the Falcons really did not get going and despite two tries and one

conversion they had really lost the match by the end of the first half. Gloucester finished with an

impressive five tries, four conversions and a penalty, eleven points from the boot of Henry Paul. The

better team won on the day.
