I saw a bus almost hit a car not

ten yards away from me this afternoon as I was sitting

on my porch reading.

The car was a little grey one and going too fast.

The bus was a big yellow school bus, coming down the hill at a decent rate of speed. The idiot in the car seemed to be a teenager.

The bus driver hit the brakes at the last second. The car actually sped up and disappeared. The bus driver didn't do a full on stop, throwing kids around, but eased his speed.

There are no stop signs in this part of the street. I've seen more than one accident scene at this corner. I have less and less respect for drivers. They regard each other as mere obstacles.
