Regretably I have never been to South Marston - but looks like the type of place where nothing happens frequently.

That's right... at South Marston some of the most exciting things you can think of never happen.

Yes, airships never happen at South Marston. I think you could really like it actually. It's got nothing you have ever dreamed of

Bluebottle Posted Dec 13, 1999
Sounds like it isn't my kind of place. Can you see no warships outside from your bedroom windows?
South Marston
Bluebottle Posted Dec 13, 1999
Ah. Not on the Isle of Wight.
I'm sorry - but if you expect me to like a place, it HAS to be on the Isle of Wight.

I don't know... some people are so closed-minded...
You don't know how much you're missing! There is more (believe it or not) to life, than the Isle of Wight!
Errr... and it's called H2G2.

Bluebottle Posted Dec 13, 1999
So therefore, South Marston is part of the Isle of Wight. Excellent.

Roasted etc, a suggestion. To liven things up why doesn't South Marston declare war on North Marston, poison the water at East Marston and order concrete to be delivered to all the residents in West Marston?
Bluebottle are the TTs in your name virtual rugby goalposts?

Thanks for the suggestion... I shall bear it in mind. The original idea was to do something semi-serious, but your idea sounds a lot more fun...
By the way, I've submitted the entry already - so if I change it now, is it the version I submitted or the latest version that gets read and approved/disapproved?

The subs always look for the latest version.
I believe your original article has more chance of being accepted. I don't think h2g2 encourages anarchy. Though if you put it in they could always take it out I suppose
Do those other places really exist?
South Marston
Roasted Amoeba Posted Dec 20, 1999
Er... I don't think so...
I think it's one of those weird places that was called "South" just because they were bored with calling too many places "North" or "West" or "East" so they decided to have a "South" ...

Is there a "Marston" without any geographical reference?

...and a Jerusalum in New Zealand - not too sure about the Three Wise Men though
