White Noise as an Insomnia Cure

1 Conversation

One cure for insomnia is simple white noise. Non distinct repetitious random sounds can help clear the mind and induce a sleeping state.

Examples of white noise are:

- fans or airconditioners
- computer hard-drives
- fire (as in a crackling fireplace)
- cats purrring
- tv or radio on static

Just make sure the noise is at a medium-low level so that it wont keep you awake. The wonderful thing about it is that it is something your consciousness can focus on, but your mind can only get a fuzzy grip on.

Sweet dreams!
