A Conversation for Teaching ( Those That Can, Do, Those That Can't, Teach )

First of all, learn to spell, or at least edit your own writing.

Secondly, before you place the blame on your teachers, perhaps you should look to yourself. An attitude such as you display, especially towards those who are in a position to help you, is inconducive to any learning.

I am a teacher. I don't like my job very much, but I do my darndest. I don't do it because I can do nothing else; I am driven by something beyond me that keeps me coming back to a job that is as rich in frustration, stress and tears and it is in rewards. Teachers have a far more stressful job than any outsider could EVER know--especially in this day and age. We are expected to be parents, teachers, friends, mentors, coaches, and spiritual advisors to dozens of children--most needy in some way. We are sued over pittances, given mediocre salaries, and treated like morons by those in other "careers," even if we have far more hours of college and experience than those professionals.

So, before you talk about what experience has "bore" out for you, think about the fact that most teachers are not teachers because they cannot excel in their art. Most teachers teach because that IS their calling; it IS what they "can do."

Well said. I am training to be a teacher having almost trained years ago and changing my mind. I did loads of other things and have ended up back right where I started. Teaching. I feel it IS a calling, as silly as that sounds. Three cheers for teachers; hip hip....
