h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Some of it is quite tasteful and if the guys/girls who did it had a suitable place to not only create, but display their work, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
Ive seen some beautiful art on walls, I mean anyone that's seen 'Dangerous Minds' will remember a character called 'Sketch' who created some lovely stuff on a wall. Thats the sort of grafitti that I dont mind, the whole, 'Barry luvs Tracy' type stuff is ugly and stupid and pointless!

There is one such piece that kept me amused all the way down Tottenham High road that read 'Ken Dodd's dads dogs dead', I was sat in the tattooists an hour after still trying to say that!

I think there is an opportunity to combine two ugly things to create objects of real beauty. Gatso (Speed) Cameras are amongst the most reviled and ugly objects that clutter the verges and pavements of our country. Maybe we could persuade the graffiti brigade to 'decorate' these monstrosities, especially the lenses with bright and imaginative images. In fact maybe it could be a community art project. Do you think we could get government funding??
