It's part of the consequences of the BBC staff deliberately breaking the dna software in an attempt to stop people posting so much. There are various conversations about it, eg: F77636?thread=2264434

I imagine that previous post is from SEF, explaining far better than I can what's going on. It's because the site is particularly busy right now and one part of it isn't keeping up with other parts, which is why you sometimes get -1 posts showing up.
