What will be playing when the clock strikes midnight at your millennium party?
Don't care as long as it's not the Vengaboys - 66%
R.E.M., "It's The End Of The World As We Know It" - 16%
Robbie Williams, "Millennium" - 11%
Pulp, "Disco 2000" - 5%
Cliff Richard, "Millennium Prayer" - 0%
An overwhelming victory, I think you'll agree...

I was listening to the radio in the early minutes of 1 January 2000 and I heard two songs played back to back.
The artists were:
1. Robbie Williams
2. Will Smith
You would think that this had the potential for appropriate music to the time of year but you would be wrong they played in order
1. "Strong"
2. "Men in Black"
Two songs that are reasonable examples of their artists output but when considering the possibility of "Millennium" and "Will2K" seems rather silly. Methinks someone messed up

It's going to sound pretty stupid if they play "Will2K" next year... mind you, people are still playing "1999"...

The concept of timing really doesn't grab people very easily.

"Please yourself, the rest of us'll be over here..."

Similar to hanging on to the original lyrics to "Three Lions", though they were blatantly out of date in 1997.
"Thirty four years of hurt,
never stopped me dreaming"
Doesn't have quite the same ring to it
