Hi everyone.
A slight rule change which should make life easier for us all.
Some of the larger settings are and have been far to difficult to try and solve.We have found it necessary to ask that when posting , the following new rules shall apply;
Anything goes / please indicate if more than one word the amount of words present.
Band/Artist / A crossword type clue must be supplied plus either (A) for artist (B) for band (AB) for both.
Hyphenated words / A crossword type clue must be supplied.
Movies / please indicate if more than one word the amount of words present.
People / A crossword type clue must be supplied.
Thanks
Artisan

Congratulations to the winners
I would like to thank everyone who has supported 'Anagramitis' over the past month when the loss of our 'digibox user' friends made quite a hole in the postings, even Artisan who made all of this possible. We can but hope that Telewest will agree to have dna as part of their services in the near future. Also a warm welcome to the new faces, I hope to see your names on the above list next month

Hello peeps, sorry for the small interruption to the game but a slight rule change that should have been made clear from the onset of anagramitis.
The (anything goes) selection was originally intended for one word postings.
It shall be treated as such from this moment onwards,
Regards,
Artisan

As you can see I have posted both 1st and 2nd places, as Rudest Elf is such a prolific poster I thought that it would be nice to see some other names appear on the list and of course it may encourage others. Sole i'm not taking anything away from you, very well done, without your many posts the threads would be rather bare
I would like to say that the number of wasted posts has grown again this may be due to the fact that we have had new rules and people tend to forget to post the crossword style clue so we end up with two posts instead of one. I would like to ask everyone, please check before you post to make sure everything is included.
Thanks,
S

Thanks ever so much Alleycat for your hard work.I'm very pleased with the inclusion of second place winners and your correct about encouraging others too.Absolutely excellent my dear.
I hasten to add (everyone) that Alleycat voluntarily embraces the thankless task of counting your posts,so please.. as she quite eloquently asks....be careful out there.
Congratulations to all concerned. We are on the up and up,keep up the good work everyone.
** Ac I'm quite surprised Venus wasn't mentioned in the Artist/Band category, its just that her time spent here is mostly on that one thread! **
All that said many thanks again S..your a wee gem !

Than you G, it's my pleasure.. I have double checked the Band/Artist and there is no mistake in my posting, that said I wouldn't have been surprised if there had been a mistake because we had 21 wasted posts in that thread alone that is more than double RE's top score and it was the most difficult thread to count.

I need some input desperately anagrammers.
Current problems and issues have made me want to ask this.
Theres only eleven active members of our space all of which cant be here at the moment so I will leave this question to a vote.
Yes or no will suffice.
Majority will rule, I have the keys to the shop but its not closed just yet..the lights are still on!

Can I suggest that 1) it stays, and 2) you and RE try to have an offline chat about things. Maybe you can find some common ground.

lugworm Posted Apr 8, 2004
Yes! it should stay you've done a good job -aided by Sam- and I enjoy my visits here. Do we need a point count each month? I for one don't! Do we need a chat thread? Without it Art & RE would be less likely to abuse each other. Do we need to be so correct at all times? Perhaps if we ask ourselves a few questions like these we can all get on better. Each of us have different natures and we should make allowances for that - or should we? Icy has made a good suggestion. Maybe you could start a new thread, just for you and RE to battle it out and we the spectators could award points! Please don't pull the plug on us!

Trin Tragula Posted Apr 8, 2004
Ditto to the two last posts - that seems an entirely sensible contribution from Icy and Lugworm's right: the point count certainly isn't essential (and if it's giving Alleycat nothing but grief then do away with it at once - she should be having fun here too!)

After the episode with a certain posting this morning, i should vote differently. but having thought about it, i think it should stay.
? Anagramitis should it stay or should it go?
^Alleycat^ like anagrams?? follow me >>>>> Posted Apr 8, 2004
Of course 'Anagramitis' should stay, there is nothing else like it on h2g2 and all of it done whilst accessing h2g2 through a digibox, it has to stay for that reason alone. Gordon, you built up something that to me anyway, is special, I love it in here but I have lost heart of late because of the content of the chat thread.
I would be inclined to agree with Lugworm that the chat thread should go but it has been a life saver in the past when i've been struggling with the words, sometimes they just wont come so to be able to say to people that at least you are trying even though there are no posts from you in the main threads, is to me, a good thing and I do like to pass the time of day with people too. So the chat thread also gets my vote minus the 'rubbish'.
I also think that everyone who participates in the games should be treated with respect, the words please and thank you cost nothing but mean everything.
The thread counting was only there as a thank you for the previous months posting and I really didn't mind doing it but if nobody wants to have it then I shall give that job a miss.
There is nothing that I can add to Artisan or Rudest Elf that i've not said over and over again in the past, it wont go away but it can be kept out of the games, the choice is yours to make and nothing any of us can say will change things only the two of you can do that. I have, as they say washed my hands of that situation, however, having said that my door is always open to the two of you, i'd much rather you moaned to me personally, than in the chat thread.
Long live 'Anagramitis'

Hi Lugworm, apologies I missed this post.Glad you were in favour of that decision. The whole place was turning into a hyphenated zone, was out of control and was not the original intention of the thread,
