A Conversation for Predicting the Future

The Future, oooo!

I predict that in the future men will dress in suits made of tin foil and women will show far too much flesh than can be healthy for the state of society. People will ride in floating cars and children will ride 'hover boards'. These people will also carry laser guns and have belts containing many pockets.
These people will be filming Science Fiction television programs.
Other people will spend most of their lifes stood in empty, blue rooms. These people will be filming Science Fiction feature films.

Other people, will go about their lives much as we do now and complain about a lack of believability in popular Science Fiction.

You mean you don't believe science fiction?

Science Fiction is the only thing you can believe in...it's not a religion, not Amway, not business (not money), etc.
Fantasy - something pure and uncontrollable.

Science FICTION, that is FICTION, is the only thing we can believe in? That's a pretty deep statement your making there, Semadam. What happened to 'I think, therefor I am', or is this a case of 'Somebody else thought of it, therefor it is.'?

Hey, so if can't believe any other thoughts, just mine?? You wrote the Bible then, I suppose.
That I believe in science fiction does not mean that I do not have OWN thoughts, or I do not exist.
But if I look around, it seems to be the only thing to believe. You know, ironically...

Today everything is SF. It's in commercials, TV-series, films, books, music, theatres, fashion, on the net and inside people. We live SF now, therefore SF is not SF anymore.

...In other words, people should just forget the whole thing and stay in bed all day? Hoopy. I can go along with that.

Staying in bed all day sounds good to me. There is nothing good in the future. Just you wait and see. SF is a good way to escape but you shouldn't live in a fantasy world like that. Reality bites.

Reality Bites, what a fantastically cheesy and poor film. But then it does have Winona Ryder, mmmm. Anyway, all this believing in Sci Fi crap has to stop. I didn't write the bible (see Sedeman's entry), I didn't mean you can't beleive anyway else's thoughts I just meant that when some one calls something fiction you'd be a fool to beleive in it. THATS WHY ITS CALLED FICION!

Okay, spelling corrections for my last entry. I was all worked up and typing too fast, sorry.
Sedeman should have been Semadam, beleive should have been believe, FICION should have been FICTION.
This entry was brought to you by the Campaign fOr the Protection of Endangered Concepts, correct spelling on the Internet division.

I haven't seen the film...But I'll take your word for it.

thank you for the correction....
I just can't believe in "serious" things anymore - money etc.
So I prefer dreams (if you wish to skip SF crap), mine or others.
And the good SF has also a deeper meaning than just entertaining, and I was thinkiong of those. H2g2, for example.
It's entertaining, but on every page there's something about real life, something like philosophical.
