I agree, Vip. My time is as aparse as yours, and it seems such a waste to trawl through pages and pages of 606ers. For the last few days, I've just welcomes people who posted on h2g2 and not bothered with the 606 list.

Me too, but it's trawling through the list that still takes the time.

I really wish there was a way to have h2g2 peeps only on the newbie list.

I think it's on the wish list for the future. It's just a shame that in between now and then there's going to be this massive influx. To cap it off, my h2g2 time is now reduced, so I'm starting to not have the time to do stuff like this.

It wouldn't be so bad if more aces actually welcomed people.

Usually, it's just Feisor and you and lil doing them regularly, and I drop in whenever I can.

Yeah, we are sorely down on numbers. I hope we pick up a few more before the refresh come in - if they're hoping to start promoting the site we will get more people.

Look at the members list. We have lots of aces. Most start out really enthusiastic for a couple of weeks, then you never see them ace anybody again.

The list is several years old. Most have drifted away from the site or only pop in occasionally. Some I don't even know (must have been here during my haitus).

Perhaps we should ask the Eds to update the page to reflect the current active users? The request that went out of the ACE Yahoo group not long ago showed that there is nobody outside of us four who are active.

Perhaps we should give them a poke

I know that jaz'd and Elentari occasionally ace people. As for the rest, they should be removed from the list, imo.

Jim Lynn managed to block out the 606 from the list a couple of years back... how hard can it be to do that now?

I don't mind pressing buttons, but even I have limits to my time

I haven't ACEd in far too long (been meaning to for a while) so I came here tonight and I can't believe the list. It didn't even occur to me that the World Cup would have this effect! I'm sorry for the lack of help from me and I will endeavour to do more.

I'm afraid I've been a bit of an idiot and not made a note of where I started checking, but I went back to about ten hours ago looking for this new user Bel posted upthread and couldn't find him. (Perhaps I've completely misunderstood this new system).
