No that is the right sort of blend. As for the factoral one there are numerous ones on the approved list. I'm looking at the locations for Bond and there are some really discriptive one's so people will actually be able to see the scenes this time around. If they actually take the time to read the articles, I'll be attaching the forums to.

Alright, here are my suggestions:

Hometown article: admittedly, I don't read many of these, so I'm offering one of my own: Oahu, Hawaii, USA: http://www.h2g2.com/A218422

Call for Entries: I liked how this one turned out, and since I dropped my own two pence in on this one, I had no trouble finding the link: International Dining Etiquette: http://www.h2g2.com/A354782

Something thoroughly researched: This one was taken from the Historical Society, of course: Edward II, King of England: http://www.h2g2.com/A201033

Something whimsical: This subject takes itself less seriously than any other. It could also pass for being well researched, and slightly controversial: Discordianism: http://www.h2g2.com/A258608

Something controversial: I challenge anyone to find a subject more controversial: Satanism: http://www.h2g2.com/a230211

Just a thought- would it be possible for the ACEs to feature five entries every week, one in each of CS's categories, but chosen by one ACE assuming they were willing, and going through the list of aces week by week? or even have 2 in each category, chosen by 2 ppl?

To reply to an earlier Joanna comment (sorry, I've been away for a week). I know what you mean. When I arrived over a year ago, all the approved articles were short, jokey and didn't say anything - and so my first articles I wrote followed that style. One of them, Bembridge, I know I could write much better now if I had the chance to - and I really would like to re-write it.

"Home" towns change. My article on Yaverland was written last year, and this year they've spent £2.5 million on building a Dinosaur Museum. If you go to Yaverland in a few months you won't be able to miss it - it's huge and takes up half the village, yet my approved article doesn't mention it because it didn't exist last year, and so the article is inaccurate. There should be a way to update approved articles, correct mistakes (ie, in my latest one on Southampton I wrote about King Ethelred the Unready and a link was included to Ethelred I when Ethelred the Unready was the II.) and add links to new articles that have been written after the original.

I read somewhere we are supposed to leave the new information in a forum post, and then leave the editor of the entry a post asking them to flag the entry for revision.

The process of revision could change with the new university structure though.

That's the way I usually do it.

Another way you could go about it is to rewrite an article with any additions/changes, then submit it. The sub will find the old version, make comparisons, and update the old one. It's a rather unobtrusive way to go about it. However, as you say, with the university structure coming about, there may be better alternatives. Just stay tuned. smiley - smiley
