Over and Outs Almost There

Though there are still a few games to be played, AndyG's side look to have the title wrapped up. Consistent performances over the last couple of weeks have seen them stretch the gap to the chasing pack to over a hundred points, and the bookies have stopped taking bets on them. The battle for second has hotted up, with any of The Down and Unders, Dedfordshire and the Green and Golds well placed for the spot. Those aside, it's a fight for pride. Most teams will be happy to be away from the wooden spoon place, with the last round of transfers perhaps crucial in separating Freddie and the Steamers and the Sticky Wikkits.

With more games to be played and a closer gap between Andy and the pack, the ProPhortyPhifty looks less of a formality. Any of the top four could conceivably win it, and with a hardcore of Yorkshire players Spent Kitfires also have potential to score heavily. Just six points separate the bottom four, with Magwitch especially keen to avoid a double of haplessness.

Note that this week's update is actually two in one, as last week I only had time to update the team scores and not the tables. This has led to one or two apparent anomolies in the table - for example Megachedda moving below Demon Drawer despite comprehensively outscoring him. I've also done one of my occasional score checks, which has led to tweaks here and there.

Now that I'm back more or less full-time, I'm happy to handle further moves as you want them. I was wary of doing this earlier in the season, as potentially I could've been overburdened with move requests, but as an experiment to see how much extra work it would be I'll do them as requested until further notice. So if you'd like to change your captain/wicketkeeper or buy or sell players, let me know. If it works well, I'll consider a similar system next season.

I'd like to consult about any rule changes for next season, and will start a new thread over on the main page shortly.

Hmm...I was sure I was in for a bumper crop of points. Didn't Rashid take a five-for not so long ago?

Anyhow, don't forget my transfer window moves please. McClaren in for Ealham, and Middlebrook as captain.

I'd like to point out that I did request these changes last week, before middlebrook took three catches and a wicket. smiley - winkeye

If I was being dishonest, I'd say I requested Ian Westwood back in as well.

I've been through and checked Rashid's scores since you bought him, B, and he was seven points down. I've clearly missed something somewhere - it's well worth pointing it out if a player's score looks unreasonably low, though I do check a selection of players once in a while.

As I said last week, the changes will take effect from this update, which is all games played from yesterday onwards smiley - ok
