Jules' Kronies and Over and Out appear to have their eye in early, the former scoring a massive 20 points and the latter 17 to fire their way into the next round. Both their opponents, Spent Kitfires and Reuben Spiring's Helicpoter, will be disappointed not to qualify, having comfortably outscored every other team in the competition. The Sticky Wikkits just sneaked through by a point against Organcheese, and the Green and Golds just about did for Dedfordshire.
The less said about the woeful match between Sorry Cow and Tea Krikkit Club (6) and Dodgy Wikkits (3) the better.
The draw for the next round has been made, and will include all Twenty20 matches played on Friday, including England's match against West Indies.

If you'd played any other team, you'd have been out. Still, that's the luck of the draw.

Except that you, young man, have a huge pile of cash to spend. You've only spent 3/4 of it; no wonder you're a bit handicapped.

The quarter finals have now been played, and the Over and Outs have indeed suffered a blip in form as predicted before the last round. Poor performances throughout the team have seen them knocked out by The Down and Unders. Game of the round was between Jules' Kronies and Sticky Wikkits, with the latter just falling short of a huge total set by the Kronies. Sorry Cow and Tea Krikkit Club were predictably defeated by a Schofield-led Freddie and the Steamers, while Graeme Swann's efforts weren't enough to save Hit for Six! from defeat at the hands of the Green and Golds.
The semi-final draw has taken place, with matches to be played this coming Friday, July 6th. Both promise to be crackers, with the Green and Golds facing the in-form Kronies, while The Down and Unders need to improve considerably to overcome Freddie and the Steamers.

I believe the Kronies' 'huge total' could actually have been colossal, had the double points for Captaincy been added - I made it 25 overall.
But hey, who's counting? We won

Any bonus points for my correct prediction, then?

The new favourites for the Twenty20 Cup are The Down and Unders, after their 22-4 massacre of Freddie and the Steamers. In the other semi-final, Jules' Kronies let their nerves get to them, a measly two points seeing them bow out to the Green and Golds. An all-Aussie final, then, and good luck to both teams in the final.
In the event of a tie, the highest scoring player will be removed from the team's total. If the score is still a tie, the trophy and prize money will be shared.

Congrats Down and Unders
I'd start clearing a space in your trophy cabinet right now!! I've fluked my way through with a succession of low scores and the luck is just about to run out I fear!!

I think that goes for both our teams SBE So it could be a real nailbiter
No room in my trophy cabinet at the moment... I'll have to clear out some F1 prizes if I get this one

Congratulations to Summerbayexile, whose Green and Gold Invincibles beat the Down and Unders 11-1 to take the inaugural Twenty20 Cup. Though the D&Us were handicapped by a lack of players in the final stages, it was still a worthwhile performance through the side by the G&GIs, and their consistently-improving performances make them very worthy trophy winners indeed.
The Green and Golds have banked £100,000 to boost their title chances, and the Down and Unders £50,000. Could this be vital money in the battle to haul back AndyG?
