Maybe if this is about blackbirds it's related to Sing A Song Of Sixpence - "Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie" and all that. Just a thought.
It does though remind me of one of my favourite recipies, which I think was in the book "Latin for All Occasions" for Larks' Tongue Pie, the opener was as follows:
Take 10,000 larks
Remove tongues
Discard Larks
...
