Pah. I've written whole entries on some of the stuff according to the linked page.
I'll be more than happy to write a few paragraphs on 'JFK blown away', John Glenn, Watergate and Joe DiMaggio. I could write about any number of American history things you might be unfamiliar with though. 
Should they be brief summaries of the event while relating to the lyrics then?
Great project, by the way B. Terrific idea. I spotted it from the question on Jimster's page, so I think I get the copyright issues too.

This is another problem, of course. Some of the lyrics already have their Guide Entries, so aren't really suitable for writing about again. Of course, there's no reason why we can't link to the existing entries.
Can you put any writing on hold until after the weekend, which is when I'm 'officially' starting to recruit people for this.

I disagree. For instance, the JFK Blown Away one will be covered in my entry for the facts, but I doubt I'll mention the significance of it, which would be important in this
