A Conversation for Talking Point: What Do You Want For Christmas?
my life back

All I want for Christmas and the future is to have my life back.....good health and to be kept safe.....
You see, My mom just passed away after a very long bout with emphysema...about 7 years she has been on oxygen 24/7...not able to get out of the house...I was the good daughter..only child...took care of her and the household....near the end she had a health-care aide 12/7, but I still was responsible for so many things I can't begin to mention.
My mom was not the easiet person to live with...picture doing all you can for someone who doesn't trust or believe you...just her nature...I knew she loved me...but I never felt appreciated.
She had a miserable life after my only brother died back in 1967 from a drug overdose....oh how the years fly by....
My dad died in 1997, after going in for a gall bladder operation, the anethesia left him with brain damage...hospitals...nursing home..and eventually watching him wither away...I miss him terribly. At that time my mom was still able to get out of the house and my mom and I were at the hospital every day from 10 to 8 trying to calm my dad because he was hallucinating and having a hard time communicating...
Once my dad was in the nursing home, my mom got sick, was in the hospital herself...I ran from one hospital to another, trying to be with both of them...It was a very long and hard road for me...Since 1995 I've not been myself....I've lived my life caring for my dad and mom...
I now look towards the future...My daughter just got married...I look forward to grandchildren and the happiness it brings....I only wish for the health and safety of my son, my daughter and son-in-law and their future together....I pray for this each night as I know that their health and safety are the most precious gifts anyone can have.
I also wish for the health and safety of all my family and friends, here and abroad at H2G2...this is the only thing that matters....happiness comes when you have these things...happiness is up to you..a state of being that for the most part you can control...I know people with very little who are happy...
What makes you happy? Everything else is meaningless without your health...So to all of you out there, know that I am thinking of you and wishing you all "Good Health"
Peace on Earth would be nice too....
