Extremely informative and well-designed article, blu. I'm with TM in the other thread on this one... This should be linked to prominantly and permanently from the Front Page!

This one is going both on my Ace Pics and links pages. Thanks oodles for writing it!

Hi 'nonnie! boy, I sure am having trouble keeping up. How DO you do it?????

[Wish there was some way for us to be notified when someone starts a new thread on one of our pages.-- but prob'ly no one ever suggested that to the PTWVH *haha*]

Anyway, thanks so much for your kind comment. Censorship is something that I feel VERY strongly about. Repression of thought is probably the MOST serious repression in the long run. Others are equally heinous and some more cruel to the individual, but it is the repression of thought that affects the human soul and diminishes us all in the long run. *oops, I rant. Sorry.*

I would very much like this article to be accepted in some form or other. It was submitted some time ago. And I know it is very long. Some of the bits are direct quotes from other places, and I know this is not in agreement with the editorial policy. But I linked to the other places in hope the quotes would lead people there. If this article is presently under consideration I would very much like to know if it can be changed, cut, rearranged, shortened, or otherwise made acceptable for Approval. Of course they have my email address [as do you *G*] and I would welcome some input.

Thank you again for your comments.

yer friend,

Heehee... At least, not more than a zillion times or so. smiley - winkeye

"There is nothing more obscene than Censorship" ... Uhm.. That was the Boojum Snark that said that, wasn't it? smiley - winkeye *rifles through sigfiles* Ah yes.. "--BJ Snark"

*grins lopsidedly* Erm.. I'm not on the Subeditor team (yet), but I, too, hope this is accepted. Can't really see why it woudn't be, myself, but a lot depends on the Sub who gets it. Of course, it's the PTWVH who will make the final decision.

Blu -

I think that ffmike wrote up a little program that would allow you to enter the posting and it would let you know if there were any new discussions on it. You might want to ask him.

Thanks, Courtesy!

But I dont think ffmike wants to port anything to the mac...

yeah....I'm one of 'those people'. I do run windoze in emulation, though, and I was looking at his download page just recently. I might try one of his things out, just to see how it goes. But I dont normally go online on the windoze platform, although I do have a few lying around, [also a pentium with linux but I really dont know how to use it very well yet]. Some day I am gonna partition my Powerbook and put LinuxPPC on it, but not until I am a little better acquainted with Linux.

I have sorta gotten in the habit of checking my favorite pages at least once a week, just to see if anyone started something new. And, of course, am waiting, as are we all, for a wondrous new message board at h2g2.

good suggestion, though. Thanks.

No problem ... and I understand about the Mac ....

*in a wisper*
you know the first step is admitting you have a problem smiley - smiley

Actually, I am one of the people who believe that there is a definite place for the MAC in the computing world. I assume that you do desktop publishing or music or something .... correct?

my name is blu, and I'm a Macaholic...

Actually, Courtesy, although I do graphics and desktop publishing and that kinda stuff, I honestly prefer Macintosh just generally.

Now I am not a wuss whose afraid of using a 'real' computer. While I am not a programmer kinda dragon, I am not without background. I started with a Sinclair [1k of ram--4 more were extra; tape drive]. I have used TRS-80s. I know dos commands [and am not afraid to use them]. I have used windoze 3.1, 95 and 98. I am just getting to know Linux. I used the Apple IIe, and about 10 years ago had a Mac LC. I now have a G3 Powerbook in additon to several windoze boxes with various things on 'em. I run windoze with Virtual PC on my Powerbook mainly cause I like PaintShopPro better than Photoshop, and also cause I write html and believe strongly that the web should be cross platform. So I like to check my work in the windoze versions of NN and IE. I travel with my Powerbook and can run both platforms on it. [try that with a windoze box]

Anyway, my point is that I have used lotsa platforms, and I simply like my Mac best. I think that not only is there room for more than one platform in the PC world, it would be a lot healthier if there were a few more besides what there already are.

PS I dont like micro$loth and mr gates very much, or their attitude and tactics
PPS anything windoze can do, a mac can do--backwards, and in high heels. *snicker, snicker*
