I do believe that wicca is not a recognised religion in the UK. Is this right? It's certainly on the increase here despite most of the people in this country's obliviousness to it.
Our bookshops shelves are covered in books about it.

I would like to know whether it is recognised officially or not, I knwo it is in the US.
I am considering launching a plea for a writing campaign to Tony Blair.
One person he wont take seriously, but several hundred?

I rummaged around my links a little, and although I could not find one complete statement about the status of wicca in the UK, I did find some links for you.

The little I could find out online is this:
Apparently the Witchcraft Act was repealed in the UK in 1951. I believe that this was ancient legislation which made it illegal to practice witchcraft.

An inquiry to the Pagan Federation might be a good place to start. They are based in London, and offer their services to the European pagan community. They could probably give you more information about the legal status of paganism/wicca in the UK. Their url is: http://www.paganfed.demon.co.uk/main.html
