h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi.
I run a website on Belief Systems and the Paranormal. About a year-and-a-half ago, I sent a questionnaire round representatives of as many faiths and philosophies as possible, to compare their views on the following points:

1) How was the universe created?
2) Is mankind here to serve a purpose?
3) What (if anything) awaits us after death?

I tried to get a Wiccan perspective by contacting the Pagan Federation, but they said that they were not in a position to help. If any of the readers of this forum can agree on a set of answers from the Wiccan perspective, I will add them to the new version of the site being prepared at http://www.paranormal.org.uk

hoo-boy! get pagans to agree???? don't think you gonna get too lucky. I have heard it said that if you get 5 pagans together, you will get at least 6 or 7 different opinions.

It seems to me that there is some kinda Charter, somewhere. but I dont know if it would answer your specific questions anyway. Remember, we are NOT organized. We are autonomous. That's part of our organization.


Take a look at the major Pagan/wiccan websites like the Pagan Federation/Covenant of the goddess/Witchvox and you will see that there are some commonalities, but there will be some variation with EVERY individual you talk to.

There IS no set of answers. For example, many wiccans do believe in reincarnation. I do not. I believe that nothing awaits us after death. But I practice much the same wiccan traditions as those who do believe in reincarnation.

And FWIW, my answers to #1 & #2:

Of course, others may want to comment, the above is just my opinion.
