Very dear Websailor
Thank you for the fascinating article on the threat of Extinction to Polar Bears. You are wonderful the way you are aware of everything that is going on the the world of Wild Life.
K. and I will send a donation to the the Save the Polar Bear Fund. They are such beautiful creatures. But I do not know what is going to happen to the North Pole . I have never seen such a rapid deterioration. Literally in the last six years. and I am convinced that it is since the airlines have started flying over the North Pole in order to get to the Far East - Literally six years ago.
With much affection

My dear A1 (and K)
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am delighted that you are sending a donation. Everything possible is being done, but like everything else these days it needs money.
It is even more necessary when trying to help animals in very inaccessible places. As you will remember WWF suffered a sad setback in Nepal last year when a helicopter crashed killing all on board, seven of them WWF staff. That was in a region where they were trying to protect snow leopards in very hostile terrain.
The courage of the people out there at the sharp end knows no bounds, which is why I do what I can to support them.
I do wonder just how much damage aircraft are doing, but the polar bears suffer from pollution which has reached the Arctic by air and water. A terrible indictment of what we as a species have done over the past hundred years or so.
I still believe that if enough people care we can make a difference, or I wouldn't be doing this.
