The Potato is not a Root

Although in the entry I read on the potato goes on to say that a potato is a tuber (an offshoot from the STEM), it begins by saying that, "The potato is an amazing root".
As this is quite misleading, could the author, and/or the editor please correct it.
It could better be said, "The potato is an amazing tuber, which is...". (you get the picture)
