"Although you are falling from five miles up, you won't keep accelerating until you hit the ground."

So, you will keep accelerating only after you have hit the ground?!?!

As the air is less dense 5 miles up would you not be travelling at more than 125mph and as the air becomes denser you will decelerate to the more accepted 125mph? i.e. your terminal velocity will change as the density of the air changes. Heck, if the speed of light can change with density I don't see why the speed of a falling body can't.

When I read the title I thought you were going to explain the story of the stewardess who survived a similar fall by landing on hay in a field. Might be worth mentioning it.

All good advice though.

You also forgot to mention kissing your ass goodbye just in case you don't survive the fall as it won't be connected to the rest of you after you have hit the ground!smiley - biggrin
