Third paragraph down has an excess ! mark
Benders full name is not Bender Unit 22, there is an extra spanish bit which I cannot remember without digging out the DVD
There are in fact 2 alien languages to decode, one is a direct alphabet transposition available on net and DVD, and the other is a tad more complicated using letter shunting, but the 'rosetta stone' as the lovely david X cohen says is on the first episode with the Nibblonian planet on the pillars outside the temple
I object to the phrase 'goody-two-shoes"
There is a fabulous comic available from Bongo which has been running for a while now. They recently did a Simpsons Crossover Crisis which was rather entertaining.
The merchandise is far better than any other cartoon series ever
Its not a cartoon, its a space opera that uses animation and humour
Linda is NOT voiced by Maurice LaMarche but Lrr is
Missed out Humorbot 5.0, Decadencebot, Robot Devil and most of the other speaking robots
This show used more computer graphics/enhancement per scene than any other show ever apart from possibly LEXX and Babylon 5
I could go on and say more useful things, but I shall wait for the impact of this first...

This entry is based primarily on an unedited entry (which I didn't write) which is much better than the official edited entry for Futurama. When I had more time on my hands I wanted to edit this as a collaborative entry with bits and pieces from lots of different people. Problem is, everyone's very keen to say what's wrong with it and say what should be in it, and rather fewer people are keen to write anything for it. I like Futurama, but I'm only a fan in the sense that I have most of them on DVD and think they're great.
I'm dimly aware of something about the alien languages - could you write a short section about them? Perhaps also the comic, the merchandise, and some of the talking robots? You'd get a writing credit.
What's wrong with 'goody two-shoes'? It's not a phrase I would use personally, but I wouldn't say I'd object to it.
I think the entry refers to Futurama as "animated sitcom". I don't think the entry says 'cartoon' anywhere, but I think that's a better description than 'space opera' - that's a term I'd reserve for Star Wars et al. AFAI remember it's not until the later series when it starts to take itself more seriously and develop running plot themes.

Ah thats where you are happily mistaken. Running plot themes developed before the show even started, listen to the dvd comentaries, they are quite informative as well as being stupidly funny when Billy West does the entire comentary like zoidberg.
But yes, leelas parents appeared in season 2 amongst other things which I shall list for you and yours later when Ive researched more.
When I say research, I mean sit around for hours giggling at a glowing box
Key: Complain about this post
