Also, it is almost certain that all life on earth originated from just one such molecule.
When you think about it, chance and likelihood are irrelevant to the question. e.g. Why, out of all the planets in the universe, did life start on earth? The question is meaningless. If humans had evolved on Mars, for example, we would be asking 'why did we evolve on Mars?' Why here? Because if not, we wouldn't be able to ask that question!
