Merry meet 
I must say, you hit the nail right on the head! Modern film, while not protraying the witch as green, warty, and wanting to eat children, has brought about an irresponsible side to magic and the craft. Underlying ideas, such as the abuse of power, are drowned in a sea of ooo's and ahhh's and special effects. Those impressionable minds that see these films, want to find the glamour of sorcery, without knowing the real price of such things.
I have had to help people deal with the love spell problem on more than one occasion. Mostly, how to break it and make the thrall GO AWAY! The availability of these spells, with out proper guidence and information of the concequences, is dangerous. Not to mention messy.
Thank you for putting this thought out here. Maybe someone will listen, and think twice before trying something they will later regret.
