A Conversation for Things I have learned since becoming a father

Ain't it grand?

I came here to subscribe to your annoyance with what the useful inventions thread has turned into and was delighted by your comments on being a daddy - however did you have time to post them?
Like agcBen, I had a happy and loved childhood and a very happy university experience. In all my long wanderings, I have never met anyone who has been sexually abused as a child, and I have been told about what to me are equivalent things like abortions and wife beatings. Don't let the PC climate stop you playing with and bathing your little one until he's old enough to do it himself and don't stop hugging him even then - it makes the teenage years bearable. I still get snugs from my boys (now aged 29 and 25). There's nothing to beat the love you get from under tens, though smiley - star
I stopped posting to the inventions thread. I do feel sorry for her pain but I don't think the whole world is so evil.

Hey, thanks a lot Star. I just get annoyed when people try to lump everybody into the same bucket. The vast majority of people here feel as annoyed and repulsed by these activities as anywhere else, so what point was she trying to make?

I know how special it is to have a child. His 2nd birthday is in only a few days, and I just can't believe how much he has grown up already, and where the time went! Even though I am 30 years his senior, and he is only just learning how to speak, we already think alike. The best thing a child can give you is a big smile when he sees you. As long as he keeps doing that, I know I am doing the right thing.

Thanks a lot again,

CR
