Bluestone transport?

Post 1

Sadly, you repeat the hoary old myth that the bluestones were transported to Stonehenge from Preseli by some Neolithic stone collection crew -- that myth was invented by HH Thomas in 1923 but has never been supported by a scrap of hard evidence. The bluestones came from many different sources, and some of them are even "rubbish stones" (soft ashes and rhyolites) which cannot possibly have had any appeal as far as Neolithic stone collectors were concerned. The bluestones at Stonehenge are much more likely to be glacial erratics -- and there are plenty of other foreign stones in the neighbourhood too, as pointed out by many authorities over the years.
