Error in footnote formatting
Sir Fragalot Started conversation Feb 1, 2000
Hi!
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere, but it's bothering to the point where you can hardly use footnotes:
The footnote number affects the linespacing in a paragraph. This really messes up the layout and makes everything far less readable. It's got to be solved, or footnotes in longer texts are impossible!
This problem occurs in both Explorer and Netscape. Please help!
Thank you,
Chris

The footnote number is created using the HTML tag, this causes the superscripting of the number, so I guess the basic problem is with the HTML standard.
As a workaround you can code your footnotes like this
Footnote text
this will reduce the fontsize of the superscripted number so that the line spacing disruption is minimised. The footnote numbers are less obvious this way though.
hope it helps.
