One must also believe in Gods if one believes in Magic I presume...

This is not necessarily the case. Though I am far from an expert, I'll try to inform: some believe in the Goddess and the God, and the coming forth of the Whole Sort of General Mish Mash from their loins. Through the Goddess, whom represents creative energies, Magick is granted. Others believe only in one God and that all Magic is representative of his supremeness through his creation. Still others believe not so much in a god so much as a consciosness that is created by the sum total of all things aware of their own existance, and through this super-consciosness draw upon their Magic. Also, there are the polytheistic that think that magic is granted through specialized gods (such as Dionysis and his magical brew). Still others believe there is no diety other then humans themselves and that all magic is human willpower fueld by emotion.
Anyone else with any knowledge on the subject feel free to completely contradict everything i said, or add to it.

I don't know if the omission was intentional or not, but have you thought of the belief that 'magic' is just another term for things we've yet to explain?

Quite right. Now that i think about it, I usually attribute waking up in the morning to magical forces. If you saw me in the morning you would completely understand.
