h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

If one of the technical team is out there, perhaps you can help me. I tried to print of a hard copy of this page (using Netscape) but it doesn't print properly - produces the header goo and about 6 pages blank all bar the vertical separator. Is it me, or is there some fundamental reason for this?

Which version of Netscape are you using?

I take it that you mean printing the article rather than the forums. If its the forums you'll need to click on the frame you want printed before hitting 'print'.

PS Netscapes documentation site makes the comment that
"Netscape does not provide any printing services; pages are simply sent to the operating system. Therefore, Netscape is limited in what it can to do overcome printing problems."

Other than making the usual suggestion to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your printer it adds
"Often, the only way to print a page is to save the file to your hard drive (choose File, Save As), open the file in a word processing program, and print the page from the word processing program. (This will mean printing without the graphics.)"

No, Peta, that's fine - I eventually just cut and pasted it to Word. I just wondered if there was anything technical going on. Have to learn my 3 new things each day
Thanks also Bruce - I suppose that's the thing about free software, the user manual tends to read, "Any problems, Tough".

In the not too distant future we will have the new Sub-editor tools.

Something else new to learn then! They should be really cool though - more like what we have here...

I think I will have to mention to Shim that we will need a 'manual' - I didn't think of that one... Good point. The tools will be fairly straightforward to learn though...
