A Conversation for My Dad's Funeral

Hi GB,
I have been researching my wife's family history, trying to track down her Granddad Walter Pickard. He went missing in 1924 when Judy's Mum was only 2 and was never heard of again. I discovered through ancestry.co.uk and Genes Reunited that he was the son of Walter and Annie Pickard and had a sister called Ella.
Ella married Alfred Trobridge and had three children, Alfred Cyril, Violet and Edward Leslie. That makes Violet Judy's mum's first cousin.
None of this was confirmed until we were contacted by Fiona Clewlow through Genes Reunited who sent us a transcript of a page taken from an old family bible written between 1854 and 1905 listing the births of the three children Walter 1885, Ella 1889 and Arthur 1892.
Judy's mum is now 87 and in good health but would love to find out any more she can about her Dad who left 85 years ago! She has no recollection of him or family photos, although we have found out a good deal about the Pickards and the Hopewells in the 19th century.
I wonder if your mum has anything that may help?
yours hopefully,
Iain

I can add to this myself, but I am not willing to post it on such a public website, if you'll drop me a line at galaxybabeATgmailDOTcom replacing the capitals with your best guess I'll happily share info
